My blog updates have been less than sporadic. Could it be because we have been having so much fun this summer? I think so! Here are just a few pictures of what we have been doing this summer.
The Hudnut family came for a visit and we had so much fun! Jack and Julia entertained each other and Liliana was an exceptional helper with her little cousins. It was hot out so we spent a lot of time in the water. We miss them so much!
Charity and I got a sister’s night out complete with dinner and massages while Daddies and Mimi and Poppie took care of the kiddos.
Aunt Jenny’s splash park was a big hit!
We enjoyed some glow stick fun for the 4th of July.
Emma spent Fridays with us all summer. She and Jack had fun if we were inside or out.
Aunt Kelly came with Christian, Carter, and Courtney. More cousin time fun! This is one of the times when I should have had my camera out more.
Lucy and Aunt Kelly snuggle up.
We even took a day trip to Sea World!
At the end of July the kids and I traveled to Columbia, South Carolina to visit one of my best friends, Chollet and her precious son, James. Despite it being 104 degrees outside and having a broken AC inside, we made the best of a sweaty situation and had a great time. Once the AC was fixed we also went to the children’s museum, celebrated my birthday, and spent some time cooling off in the water. James and Jack were best buddies within minutes of seeing each other again. Even running errands is fun when your best buddy comes along! And I’m pretty sure Lucy has her first crush.
Chollet and I had a sugar high during nap time.
After Columbia we met up with Mike and all of the Goodmans for a family reunion in Wolf Laurel. It was a wonderful getaway, but I didn’t take many pictures! Shame on me. Cousins, remind me to have my camera with me at all times next time! Here are some pictures of my little hiker contemplating life. Thanks, Aunt Gayle for the Jack-sized walking stick!
Yes, that little speck is Jack running down the “steep hill”!
After Wolf Laurel we went with Mimi and Poppie to Dillsboro where Jack got to continue to be a country boy with Daddy. Mike and Poppie and I went down the Nantahala river. What a fun birthday gift from Mimi & Pops!
When we got home it was Mike’s birthday. We had a quiet celebration at home.
This last month has been hectic, fun, and eventful. Our summer has had some quiet days, too. I go back to school next week and the thing I will miss most is spending all day with these two precious creatures.
